Virtual, Virtual and more Virtual
What is "Virtual" and what can actually be done "virtual?"
To me "Virtual" means doing work via a computer/internet from just about anywhere in the world. Key ingredient of course would be the "work" needs to be something that can be done "non face to face" or at a certain location like an office where others also work.
Actually Virtual is still "out there" as far as really being a viable working condition. Once called telecommuting and or telemarketing is now "virtual."
In short, Virtual is new and ever expanding!

September 2011
Well, the end of the Month is almost here and I must report that while we have more resumes on file, we have yet to add a single Carrier.
I will continue to search for Carriers that are willing to take that leap of Faith and go from Telecommuting to Virtual Adjusting.
Thank you all for you patience!

September to Remember!
The month is not over and I'm still very optimistic that insurance carriers will be joining us at www.virtualtempadjusters.com
We have over twenty (20) resumes with some very experienced and talented adjusters.
Keep the "faith" and get ready to start working "virtual!"

Raining In the Desert!
Some say it is "good luck" if it rains on your Wedding Day! Well it is raining in Desert Hot Springs, and if you are familiar with DHS and the Coachella Valley, we do not get much rain.
Thus I believe this will be a Good Day for Virtual Adjusting and Virtual Adjusters! We will add more to our Data Base, and Carriers will start flocking to join us.
Once the carriers realize the cost benefit of utilizing Virtual Adjusters the flood gates (no pun intended) will open. Be ready!

Each Day brings us Closer!
One very important thing to do each day, no matter what your Vision or Goal is, you must "expect" the very best. Ideas and thoughts, just like dreams often need time to mature. If everything we wanted to accomplish took place quickly and with very little effort, would it still have the same impact.
Virtual work of any kind will soon be the "norm" and we need to keep focused on that!

Virtual Resume Data Base Growing!
There are now over 20 resumes/candidates listed on my Recruiting Site with www.zoho.com!
These candidates visited www.virtualtempadjusters.com and applied for the one open Virtual job and then uploaded their Resume.
This is where (soon) carriers will be looking when the decide that Virtual Adjusting is a viable way to reduce their cost per claim and not sacrifice experience/talent. Virtual Adjusters work from home or anywhere in the world, and can fill in Part or Full time, or work as a 1099 employee for any carrier that has online capabilities (which most do now.)
Be sure to also join our Group on LinkedIn "Virtual Insurance Adjusters"
Thank you!

Professionals are Taking Notice!
Once again I can only say that September is going to be the "Month" that Virtual Temp Adjusters takes off. We now have Carriers and Law Firms taking a second look at us. As always they can join us on LinkedIn (www.linkedin.com) and join our Group "Virtual Insurance Adjusters"!
Also our Resume Data Base continues to grow with some extraordinary and extreamly experienced Adjusters. We even have an Adjuster from Afghanistan wanting to add their Resume!

Over a Dozen!
We now have over a dozen very experienced and seasoned Adjusters in our Data Base at www.virtualtempadjusters.com
While that may not seem like a lot, to me it is very exciting to watch it grow, and again to see the Talent that is out there.
I still believe that a Company that could "hire" all these candidates would be one of the best in the country. Dedicated, intelligent and very experienced adjusters. I myself am honored just to be on the same page with them.
I'm also still very confident that soon we will be adding carriers looking to start using Virtual Adjusters.

Resume Data Base Grows!
We now have an incredible group of Adjusters wanting to work Virtual. The Experience is unbelievable and would make any company proud to have them working for them. Once Insurance Companies realize that they can have such an experienced adjuster working for them without having to actually move them into the office, Virtual Adjusting will take off.
As we keep adding to our Data Base with Adjusters, we will all keep trying to find Carriers willing to take a leap of faith and try it out. A lot of carriers use their own staff as Telecommuters, and so switching to Virtual adjusters would not be that much different.

September will be the "Month"
Not sure why, but I just feel it! Carriers will start noticing us and their own need to fill those desks where adjusters are either on Storm Duty or just out! Insurance companies will continue to downsize and outsource so why would they not want to hire a very experienced seasoned Virtual Adjuster.
It will happen, and I believe the flood gates will open in September! If you are an Insurance Company, let us know your needs for a Virtual Adjuster. If you are an Adjuster, check out www.virtualtempadjusters.com, apply for the open position and upload your Resume.
Thank you for your patience as we grow!

"Irene" and Virtual Adjusting
With "Irene" now on top of the East Coast, Insurance Companies are using all the resources they have to cope with the "flood" (no pun intended) of claims that are or will be coming in. Many of their Staff field people are on Cat (catastrophe) duty, and their desk employees are trying to not only handle the normal claims but now the onslaught of new storm claims.
Perfect time for the Carriers to utilize "Virtual Adjusters!" Experienced adjusters that can jump right in and handle the "Desk."
In the upcoming week(s) I and all Virtual Adjusters need to be in contact with as many Staff adjusters and Carriers as they can, to suggest "Virtual Adjusting." Have them visit www.virtualtempadjusters.com and review the resumes of all the experienced adjusters.
The volume of new claims will be high for the first two weeks, then start to slow as the weeks pass. I would venture to say that the increase of new storm claims along with normal claims will give Virtual Adjusters about a two to three month window of opportunity.
Now is the time for Virtual Adjusters and Adjusting to take a foot hold in the Adjusting arena.
Please visit us on LinkedIn (www.linkedIn.com) and join our group "Virtual Insurance Adjusters"

Needle In a Haystack!
Carriers that are potential candidates for utilizing Virtual Adjusters just need to be told of the Cost Saving benefits. Not only do they lower their cost per claim (outsourcing) they retain and utilize experienced adjusters.
If you currently have even a passing relationship with a Staff Adjuster or better yet a Staff HR person, you need to start talking up the Virtual Adjuster advantages.
It is probably best to start looking for the smaller carriers that most likely already outsource much of their adjusting or investigating work.
I for one will keep up the search and I'm still confident that the carriers, once they realize the advantage to using virtual adjusters, will start to line up!

Finding Insurance Companies that have an interest in Virtual Adjusting
When I did Virtual Adjusting (Auto Liability) the Carrier was new and small and only wrote minimum auto policies. They wrote in a few States and they only had an adjusting license for the one State they were in. As I had an adjusting license in Arizona I was able to do the Virtual Adjusting for them. I was receiving about 3 to 5 new claims a day and we had a pending of about 60 files at any given time. I was taking recorded statements, obtaining Police Reports and having our field staff do scene investigations when needed. I was doing everything an inside staff desk adjuster would do. After getting all the facts I would make a liability determination and make my recommendations to the carrier. I was also handling the subrogation claims that came in from other carriers again just as a desk adjuster would do. I would send out required forms using approved letters from the carrier including denial letters.
I'm sharing this with you all so that you know Virtual Adjusting works. Also many carriers do use their own staff as telecommuters, so again same concept but they are staff and the carrier has to still pay all the benefits.
The ideal situation would be to set up an actual Virtual Adjusting Company, pre-screen all the candidates and assign the work to the various adjusters. That way there would also be Quality Control as well as file supervision. However, to do that you need to have a few solid accounts and E&O insurance which as most of you know is expensive. So for the time being, we just need to connect some Virtual Adjusters with some Carriers.
Always open to your thoughts and suggestions!
Thank you
Jeff

We now have over 30 members that have joined "Virtual Insurance Adjusters" on LinkedIn. The Talent/Experience level these members have is off the charts. I only wish I could hire each and ever one of them, and I know we would have one of the best companies around. Everyone is experienced and willing to work Virtual if nothing else just to keep working. They all would have no problems doing the required work, and definitely have the experience to do it.
What seems to be the more difficult part of this "Virtual Vision" is to find Insurance Companies willing to take a leap of faith and hire one of these fine workers. I will continue my quest to locate these companies, which I'm sure will start to surface as the carriers look to reduce their loss costs yet maintain an experienced claims staff. Virtual Adjusting is the best way to do both. And there is no FEE to the adjuster or the carrier.

With all companies trying to utilize their resources and stretch their dollars further, many turn to "work at home" employees, now also called "Virtual Workers."
As I have repeated many times, Virtual work of any kind is "the way of the future."
With workers of all ages either retired, unemployed or looking for additional work, Virtual adds a new dimension to their portfolio. Hate to use the term "win-win" but that is what this new wave of Virtual work is. The company can reduce its labor cost by downsizing and outsourcing without loosing the Talent that they need to run a successful and profitable business. The Virtual worker wins also in that they can work from home or from just about anywhere and continue to utilize their well earned skills. I also have set up a Recruiting Site with ZOHO (www.zoho.com) where virtual adjusters can hook up with companies looking to hire virtual workers.
Getting qualified virtual workers is not the problem, finding companies that are willing to take a leap of faith and try something different is.
On Linkedin I have a Group "Virtual Insurance Adjusters" I also have two sites I'm setting up www.virtualEprofessionals.com and www.virtualEadjusters.com

First of anything is always a rough start!
To date I have started using www.zoho.com as a recruiting platform, adding resumes and carriers. I also have www.virtualtempadjusters.com a site dedicated to connecting Retired or Unemployed Seasoned Adjusters with insurance companies looking to fill a desk part or full time with a Virtual Adjuster. I actually did this type of work for about one year so I know it works. Win win for Insurance companies as they can keep the cost per claim down and utilize a wealth of talent from all over the World!
I'm sure there are hundreds if not thousands of Adjusters willing to work Virtual and there will be a growing number of Insurance Companies that will realize the benefits of Virtual Adjusting.
I'm also a Licensed Insurance Adjuster in California, Arizona, Nevada and Texas, with over 35 years in the Multi-Line claims profession. Soon will also have an Adjusting Software Program to assist adjusters and carriers work together virtually!
Down the road will also have virtualEprofessionals for all other Non-Adjusters wanting to work Virtual in their own field/trade.
If you have any questions or want to join a Virtual Insurance Adjusting group, please logon or login to www.linkedin.com and search for Jeff Weiss and my Group "Virtual Insurance Adjusters"
